PESHAWAR, April 15: The provincial home department has submitted a report to the federal government regarding action taken against a policeman allegedly involved in the murder case of an Afghan driver.

According to a press release issued by the department, the action had been taken against the policeman as a complete ‘challan’ was sent to the competent court of law against the accused.

According to the report submitted to the ministries of interior and the foreign affairs by the provincial department, the complainant Haji Shah Pur had charged the community police constable Nazeer Hussain, hailing from Pishtakhara village of Peshawar, for the murder of his son, Tawab Khan, a driver, and injuring his cleaner, Fazal Rehman, on Sept 23, 2011.

The report said the constable opened fire on Tawab Khan after he was refused illegal gratification, killing him on the spot and injuring  the helper Fazal Rehman. —Bureau Report
