LAHORE, April 16: An expatriate Pakistani’s seven-year-old son, who went missing from Lalazar Colony on Sunday, was found murdered in Doongi Ground, Samanabad, on Monday.

Iqbal Town Operations SP Abdul Gharraf Qaisari told Dawn that police found the body of Abdul Moeez, son of Muhammad Aslam, of Lalazar Colony, packed in a sports bag that was wrapped in a plastic sheet. He said police found some scratches and blue spots on the victim’s face.

He said the Nawab Town police had registered Moeez’s kidnap case on Sunday.

Sadar Investigation SP Mustafa Hameed Malik said the boy had left his home at around 6pm to play video games but didn’t return. He said locals had seen the boy going to the video games shop.

He said the motive behind Moeez’s abduction was yet to be ascertained as the family had not suspected the involvement of any one. He said Moeez’s father Aslam was currently staying in Japan. He said a murder section had been added to the already registered FIR against unidentified kidnapper(s).
