ISLAMABAD: Arrangements are being made for deportation of 16 members of the family of Al Qaeda’s slain chief Osama bin Laden after completion of their 45-day jail term at Tuesday midnight.

Sources said a meeting was held at the interior ministry on Monday night to finalise the arrangements.

Bin Laden’s three wives – two Saudi and one Yemeni – and 13 children were detained on March 3 and kept in a house on the Embassy Road.

The house was declared a sub-jail.

Senior Civil Judge Shahrakuh Argumand sentenced them on April 3 for having entered Pakistan without valid travel documents and living here illegally. The court had also ordered their deportation after completion of their 45-day sentence.

Amir Khalil, counsel of the Osama family, told Dawn that travel documents of the family were ready. The sources said the family was likely to be sent to Saudi Arabia or Yemen.
