KARACHI: Pakistan’s top two cueists Mohammad Asif and Sultan Mohammad conjured up contrasting victories in the 28th Asian Snooker Championship which commenced in Doha on Friday.

According to the information reaching here, national champion Asif recovered from 1-3 down to inflict 4-3 defeat on Palestine’s Khalid Soliman Alastal the scores being 28-60, 64-19, 43-52, 17-66, 79-32, 90-26, 61-22.

Sultan, however, humbled Sri Lanka’s M.N. Mohamed Munshi 4-1 in the group ‘C’ opener. He won the duel 79-13, 65-25, 42-52, 51-40, 66-24.
