It was a little strange when only a couple of weeks after Moin Akhtar’s passing away no media network or his friends talked about him. One thought that like so many great showbiz personalities he was also forgotten following two weeks of “what a great loss” meaningless speeches.

However, last weekend on his first death anniversary almost all of the TV channels and newspapers ran packages and stories on him, which kind of made up for the 11-month lull. It goes to show that we still remember our heroes. Moin Akhtar was definitely one of Pakistan’s best actors ever. His friends and colleagues must also be praised for remembering him with the same intensity and fondness while giving interviews and talking on art-related forums.
