LAHORE, April 30: Yaum-i-Shuhada was observed with solemnity and enthusiasm at the Lahore Garrison on Monday to commemorate the sacrifices rendered by personnel of the armed forces of Pakistan.

According to a press release issued by the ISPR, a special ceremony was held to pay a tribute to the martyrs. Lahore Corps Commander Lieutenant General Rashad Mahmood and war veteran Brigadier Abdul Qayyum Sher (retired) (Hilal-e-Jurrat) laid wreaths and offered fateha.

A smartly turned out contingent of the Punjab Regiment presented the salute. A large number of serving and retired officers, soldiers of the Pakistan Army and families of the martyrs attended the ceremony.

Also, the martyrs day was observed in Bahawalpur.

Bahawalpur Corps Commander Lt-Gen Haroon Aslam laid a wreath at the Shuhda monument at the Corps Headquarters and offered fateha for the martyrs during a ceremony at Bahawalpur Garrison.
