ISLAMABAD, May 1: The Aabpara police busted a gang of auto-thieves and recovered two stolen cars and two CNG kits from them, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.

He said that a special team headed by SHO Aabpara Khalid Memud Awan arrested the gang and recovered the vehicles and kits on information provided by them during interrogation.

The alleged car-lifters confessed during the investigation that they had stolen seven cars from different areas of the capital including Sector G-6. Further investigation is in progress and police officials are expecting more recoveries from them.

A special police team has also been sent to arrest their other accomplices as identified by them during interrogation.

Meanwhile, the capital police also arrested 10 outlaws including three women drug peddlers from different areas and recovered narcotics, wine, weapons and looted items from them.

The Golra police arrested four drug peddlers including three women and recovered over 7-kilogram hashish from them. The police also arrested an accused after recovery of a wine bottle from him.

Similarly, the Tarnol police arrested three persons on suspicion and during search recovered 30 bottles of wine, two 30-bore pistols, two 12-bore guns and magazines from them.

Likewise, the Industrial Area police arrested an accused on charge of theft and recovered stolen items worth Rs100,000 from him. The Ramna police intercepted a car on suspicion which later found tempered which led to arrest of its driver.

The Sabzi Mandi police also recovered a tempered car and arrested its driver. Meanwhile, the Koral police arrested an accused and recovered a pistol.
