ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani said that after Pakistan’s statements regarding withdrawal of forces from Siachen in the aftermath of Gayari tragedy, India has adopted a ‘harder’ stance, DawnNews reported.

“New Dehli is now talking about redefining the border lines,” the army chief said.

Kayani said that issue of military withdrawal from Siachen will be raised in the next bilateral talks between Pakistan and India. “Mutual withdrawal from Siachen will benefit both the countries,” he added.

"It takes two hands to clap," he said.

Talking over the current political situation of the country, Kayani said “democracy is the only way forward for Pakistan.”

Speaking over the Gayari rescue operation, the army chief said that the rescue operation would continue till we find the last body of the soldiers and civilians trapped there.
