LAHORE, May 2: Robbers took away Rs1.97 million in cash, cheques worth Rs600,000, five cell phones and an I-phone during a shop robbery in Sattokatla police limits on Wednesday.

Rana Rizwan told police 10 robbers entered his marble shop situated on College Road near Ameer Chowk, held him and customers at gunpoint and looted Rs1.97 million cash and cheques worth Rs600,000 from him. They also snatched cash and cell phones from two customers and fled the scene.

Four armed men barged in the house of Hunza Bibi in North Cantonment police limits and looted cash and valuables worth Rs300,000. They also shot at and injured the woman when she put up resistance.

Some robbers took away cash and valuables worth Rs700,000 from the house of Sagheer in Johar Town. — Staff Reporter
