Hasan Rizvi of BodyBeat Production recently launched what he calls the “first dance video of Pakistan” directed by Nasir Tehrani. Naach showcases the body-moving talents of Rizvi and his team comprising Breakhna, Zarmeena, Sohail Abro and Yousuf.

“I learnt Hip Hop, Bollywood and Bhangra in Toronto with a fantastic Indian troupe called South Asian Alliance. When I returned to Karachi I felt the dire need for entertainment here and that’s how I started with a small dance class,” says Rizvi.

“Naach is the first dance video that was made with the intention of highlighting dance. Composers, DJs, singers, musicians have videos made all over the world highlighting their talent. This video was designed to highlight dance thus is first of its kind. Dance is featured in almost everything now but it has never been the primary focus. I feel dance is one of the most entertaining art forms then why does it take the backseat?”

Discussing the response of the video, he shares, “I didn’t think the video would be so widely appreciated. The feeling is overwhelming especially because I know the video could have been much better. One thing is for sure that the next one will be far superior.”

Hasan also took the opportunity to announce something quite groundbreaking: Naach—Pakistan’s first dance film! “While Nasir Tehrani directed the video both of us got talking. He was inspired to shot Pakistan’s first dance film. We held a several auditions before we finalised the cast and were blessed with stars like Javed Shiekh and Shaan who enthusiastically agreed to do it.”

Naach is a groovy stimulating number sung and composed by Iftikhar Ahmed aka Ifti who has tasted the limelight with tracks like Main Abdul Qadir Hoon, Khata and Yaarian.
