ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is set to take part in the tent-pegging event of the Diamond Jubilee Pageant at Windsor Castle, United Kingdom from 9-13 May, 2012.

The Pageant which celebrates Queen Elizabeth's 60 years on the throne honours the Queen and her interest in horses. The event will be attended by a six-member contingent from Pakistan led by Adil Shah who is one of the pioneers of equine sports in the country.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Islamabad Polo Club, Shah said it was an honour to be invited to such a significant event.

“It is a big honor for Pakistan to have been invited for the Diamond Jubilee Pageant,” Shah said.

He added that participating in the event will give the equine industry and the image of Pakistan a boost.

“Participating in the event will portray a soft image of our country.”

The other members of the team are Asad Farooq Khan, Qaiser Mahmood, Yasir Iqbal and Sardar Waqar Khan. All the members of the team are experienced tent-peggers and will be performing in front of the Queen in traditional dresses.
