LAHORE, May 8: The City District Government of Lahore plans to launch the Zimadar Shehri (responsible citizens) project under the e-governance initiative in the provincial capital.

“Under this project, a computerised helpline will be set up where citizens can lodge their complaints relating to any department of the CDGL,” Lahore District Coordination Officer Noorul Amin Mengal said during a meeting on the e-governance project at Town Hall on Tuesday.

He said citizens under this project could get their complaints relating to adulteration, price hike, wedding ceremonies, land grabbers, repair/maintenance of roads and other civic issues registered with the helpline. Similarly, people could receive a prompt feedback/response from the quarters concerned on their complaints. He said a strategy was being evolved to expand network of helpline up to union council level to provide relief to people at grassroots. He said names of complainants would be kept secret.
