A police vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb in Peshawar. The blast took place on the G T RoadinPeshawar’s Gulbahar area. Police officer, Javed Khan, said 12 civilians and five police officers were also wounded in the attack. He said the officers were escorting a prison van, but no prisoner was hurt. No group has claimed responsibility, but the Pakistani branch of the Taliban often targets police, military troops and other security forces to pressure the government to end support for the United States in its campaign against al Qaeda and other militant groups.
