MIRAMSHAH, May 12: Hundreds of tribal people vacated their houses in different localities and began migrating to safer places in North Waziristan Agency on Saturday.

According to reports, the people in Srai Darpakhel, Zaffar Town, Dattakhel village, Waziri Kot, Dandan Darpakhel and other areas of Miramshah tehsil started fleeing the region owing to fear of a possible clash between security forces and militants.

The Miramshah Bazaar also remained closed on Saturday.

Panic gripped local tribal people when political authorities made announcements through loudspeakers and local radio station that curfew would be imposed in Miramshah, Mir Ali, Doslai, Razmak, Miramshah Colony, Civil Colony, Gharlai Boya and Khar Kamar from 5:30am to indefinite period.

The violators of the curfew would be shot at, the authorities said.
