KARACHI: The Pakistan under-22 team will be departing for Palestine from Lahore on Sunday to take part in the Al-Nakba International Football Tournament there.

Though the Pakistan Football Federation failed to release the names of all the players in the squad, Dawn has learnt that it includes six boys from Karachi, namely, Junaid Qadir, Sher Mohammad, Mohammad Bin Yunus, Saddam Hussain, Zakir Lashari, Abdul Salam and Usama Halim.

The Al-Nakba International Football tournament, to be played from May 14-22, will feature Vietnam, Indonesia, Iraq, Mauritania, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Jordon and Uzbekistan apart from Pakistan and hosts Palestine.

According to the team’s foreign coach Zavisa Milosavljevic, the tournament will prove to be good practice and exposure ahead of the team’s important assignment of the Asian Football Confederation Under-22 Championship Qualifiers in June.—Sports Reporter
