HYDERABAD: Sindh High Court Hyderabad Circuit Bench has adjourned the hearing of Waheeda Shah Bukhari's petition against her disqualification verdict given by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to May 24.

The bench comprising Justice Aqeel Abbassi and Justice Tasneem Ahmed here on Tuesday heard the arguments of counsel of the petitioner Hyder Imam Rizvi, Deputy Attorney General Muhammad Ali Shaikh and the counsels of 2 contestants of PS-53 by-elections in Tando Muhammad Khan.

The DAG informed the court that the ECP had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the SHC's order to stay the April 26 by-polls in Tando Muhammad Khan PS-53 constituency.

He prayed the court to adjourn the case until that case was decided.

However, the counsels of the petitoners including Rizvi and advocate Yousuf Laghari argued against putting the case to long adjournment.
