THIS is with reference to the news item, ‘Air bridge falls due to hydraulic failure’ (May 14). Karachi is the only international airport of Pakistan although much smaller than the Indira Gandhi airport of Delhi or Bombay airport.

The Civil Aviation of Pakistan charges heavy amounts from passengers. Service is visible.

For the last three years automatic flight inquiry (114) could not be restored. This is an important telephone number for millions of travellers and their relatives. More aviobridges will fall if the right decisions are not made and on time. I hope that the authorities concerned would do something about it as soon as possible.
