QUETTA: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Mir Changez Khan Jamali said on Thursday that Higher Education Commission would grant about 1000 scholarships to the talented students of Balochistan during the prevailing year while PCSIR and COMSAT would arrange training programs for about 100 teachers and students of the province.

He said this while talking to the Chief Secretary Balochistan Babar Yaqub Fateh Mohammad here.

Mr jamali said that federal government was taking concrete step for the development in the science and technology sector in Balochistan besides it was providing all-out assistance for the vocational trainings of the teachers of the province.

Federal minister for Information Technology Raja Pervez Ashraf has agreed to setup IT units on district level schools in Balochistan, he added.

He noted that consenting to the demand of Balochistan the federal government has also agreed to give adequate representation to the people of Balochistan in the BoD of PCSIR.

Jamali while lauding the cooperation of the Balochistan education minister said that he had promised to allocate land for the COMSAT camps from his personnel fund.

CS Balochistan assured federal minister of full cooperation of the provincial government for the betterment of education sector in the province.

“Land for setting up of COMSAT camps and other technical education institutes in Jaffarabad and Quetta would be provided to the Science and Technology ministry,” he assured.
