ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Thursday that Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) was not responsible for ensuring that orders of the Supreme Court were being implemented, DawnNews reported.

Speaking at an event organised on the occasion of World telecom Day in Islamabad, Gilani said that that those who are conspiring against the government; " want my departure from the office before the creation of a Seraiki province."

He said that a Seraiki province is the demand of 40 million people in the country.

The prime minister said that the opposition was willing to sit in the committees formed by him, but did not accept him as the prime minister.

Addressing an event of government officers in Islamabad after that, Gilani said that the traditional methods of governance have become obsolete and there was a need to opt for new ways to address the issues of the people.

He said that wishes of the people cannot be disregarded, adding that he had advised officers to put public interests paramount while performing their duties.

The prime minister directed the finance ministry to give additional perks and benefits to the young officers in the upcoming budget.

He also directed that allotment of a house should be added in the retirement package of each officer.

Moreover Gilani said that all the institutions of the country are working within their domain, judiciary is independent, civil society is active and the middle-class is sensible.
