QUETTA: Gunmen opened fire at a police mobile van which killed two police constables and injured two others, including an assistant sub-inspector near Western Bypass area on the outskirts of Quetta on Thursday.

Police said that unidentified armed men riding a bike opened fire at a police mobile of PS Brewery which was on routine patrolling in the Sardar Karez area near Western Bypass.

"As a result of the firing, two constables were killed on the spot and two others including an ASI and a constable seriously injured," police added. The assailants managed to escape from the scene.

Law enforcement personnel rushed to the site and shifted the bodies along with the injured to Bolan Medical College hospital. The entire area was later cordoned off and a search operation was launched to trace the attackers.
