With years of experience behind them as silent spectators seated in front-row seats at fashion shows and weeks or while going about their business backstage, it was high time someone tapped into their aesthetics and made them iconic of what fashion can and should be like for those who lend grace, style and dignity by their sheer presence. It resulted in an energetic, classy presentation with timeless appeal and oomph value.

The occasion

Launch of the new prêt line by the designer duo of the label Ayesha Somaya titled Cruise collection, held at the Brands Just Pret outlet at Dolmen Mall in Karachi.

The presentation

Fab 40 featuring ravishing, graceful and mature fashionistas sashaying down the escalator on to a makeshift ramp in breezy and flowing outfits.

The models

Those who modeled the collection included dance instructor Fehmida Maskatiya, stylist Angie Marshall, entrepreneur Naaz Shirazee Fancy, publicist Tehmina Khaled, fashion designers Bibi and also accessory designer Pinky Durrani, café owner Shehla Khan, stylist Annie Mansoor, interior-furniture designer Annie Shehzad and lifestyle and diet consultant Rukhsana.

The collection

Mostly in solid colours with free-flowing silhouettes and shapes that compliment the maturity in years with a definite style appeal that translates well into fashionable comfort. —Ali Khan
