QUETTA, May 19: Two bodies, including that of a journalist, were found in Turbat and Khuzdar towns on Saturday, sources said.
They said the journalist — Razzaq Gul, who worked for Express TV and was an office-bearer of the Turbat Press Club — went missing on Friday.
His body was found dumped near the old civil hospital in Khuzdar, Kech district.
He had been shot in the head and chest, hospital sources said. His brother Mohammad Alam identified the body as that of Mr Gul.
The reason for the killing could not be ascertained till the filing of this report. “We are still investigating the incident and at the moment we cannot say anything about the motive for the murder,” a senior police officer told Dawn by telephone.
He added that no one had claimed responsibility for the killing.
In the last four years, more than a dozen journalists have been killed across Balochistan.
The other body was found on Rabia Khuzdari road in Khuzdar town. It bore torture marks. Later on, it was identified to be that of Abdul Quddoos Mirwani, who went missing on July 21 2011.
