HYDERABAD, May 21: The Site police have registered three separate cases regarding Sunday’s armed clash in Ganjo Takkar area in which a man had died and four others were injured A man of Chandio tribe was killed and four of his associates suffered injuries in an exchange of fire with Jatois as they tried to demolish houses in Ganjo Takkar area in Latifabad which was vacated with the help of a team of anti-encroachment cell on Sunday.

When the team of the cell reached the area with bulldozers along with a group of Jatois for possession of the land, people of the area resisted them.

Ahmed Khan Chandio was killed and Manzoor Chandio, Sadiq, Shaman and Majeed were injured in exchange of fire.

Mir Mohammad Chandio, cousin of deceased, lodged a case against Azhar Jatoi, Ejaz Jatoi, Khadim Jatoi, Mohammad Khan and inspector Khalid Narejo of the anti-encroachment cell and 18 unidentified people.

He said they were present in their homes when the accused started demolishing their house. “We requested them to show mercy but they didn’t”, he said.

He said that 18 armed men accompanied the accused who fired upon them as a result of which five men received bullet injuries and one of them died in civil hospital.

Inspector Narejo lodged a case against unidentified accused under section 324 and 353 of the PPC. He said that his team went to Ganjo Takkar area for survey of the land following a letter issued by ADC-I.

He said that when they were checking land record, some people started pelting them wit stones. He said he had fled after hearing gunshots.

Gul Hasan, driver of Zealpak cement factory, lodged a case under sections 324, 35, 427, 147, 148, 149 of the PPC in which he nominated around 10 identified people, including those who received bullet injuries, in the incident besides 100 to 150 others.

He said that they had gone for survey of the land, along with anti- encroachment cell staff, when they were attacked by people. One of their vehicles was also torched.
