KARACHI, May 23: The customs officials seized 1,200 grams of controlled drug amphetamine (a psychotropic substance) from a Malaysian passenger at Karachi airport on Wednesday. According to a customs spokesperson, the passenger, Goh Yoon Chee, was detained after the drug was recovered from specially-made cavities in his suitcase.

The suspect was caught when he landed at the Karachi airport from Malaysia, the spokesperson added.

The value of the drug in the local market is said to be around Rs12 million.

The passenger was arrested and an FIR registered.
