MARDAN, May 24: Former Mardan district president of Jamaat-i-Islami Syed Badshah has joined Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz along with his supporters.

Speaking at a press conference in Mardan press club on Thursday, Mr Badshah expressed confidence in the leadership of Mian Nawaz Sharif and claimed that the PML-N was the only political party capable of solving the country’s problems.

PML-N district president Inayat Bacha and other office-bearers were also present on the occasion.

Mr Badshah and his friends said that they had joined the PML-N without any condition and would always remain committed to the party cause. They claimed that the PML-N was becoming the most popular political party of the country and would sweep the coming election.

STUDENTS BRIEFED: Jo Nesbitt, deputy director international office of the University of Southampton, UK, visited Abdul Wali Khan University here on Thursday and assured support to students in the field of education and research.

She met the faculty staff and students of the university and briefed them about admission and facilities available for PhD scholars at the University of Southampton. She hoped that her university would soon sign an MoU with the AWKU for mutual cooperation.
