KARACHI: Four people, including a woman, were wounded when gunmen opened fire on a bus of a private company near Quaidabad on Monday evening.

DSP Fateh Mohammed Sangri said the gunmen said to be on six motorbikes sprayed the bus transporting employees of the private company with bullets within the remit of the Sharafi Goth police station.

Four persons, including a woman, Aasia Bashir, sustained bullet wounds in the attack and were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medical treatment, the police officer said.

However, another senior police officer of the area said a private security guard travelling in the bus returned fire and scared away the attackers.

The police had found no clue to the suspects till late in the night.
