KARACHI, May 29: Afghanistan Youth, Al-Noor Gymkhana, Faisalabad and Dawood Sports progressed to the quarter-finals of the Pakistan Champions Cricket League after winning their knock-out matches on Monday.

At RCLA Ground in Korangi, left-arm spinner Abdul Qadir captured four wickets for nine runs as Afghanistan Youth beat National Cricket Club Lahore by 34 runs.

Wicketkeeper/batsman Mohammad Shahzad hit 51 as Afghanistan Youth made 137-9 in 20 overs.

National CC, in reply, were bowled out for 103.

At RLCA Ground in UP, Al-Noor Gymkhana thrashed SG Jadoon Abbottabad by six wickets. Pakistan reject Fawad Alam continued his fine run with the bat with 43 off 27 balls.

Left-arm spinner Tariq Khan claimed five wickets for 18 runs but his effort failed to save Peshawar CC from a 39-run defeat against Dawood Sports at RLCA Gulberg.

Tariq’s fine spell restricted Dawood Sports to 133-7 in 20 overs. But Peshawar CC, in reply, bowled out for 92 in the 19th over.

Faisalabad CC defeated Phoenix CC UAE by 30 runs at the RLCA Ground in Korangi.
