KARACHI, May 30: Judicial magistrate and civil judge (east) Syed Zaheer Ahmed Naqvi was wounded in a targeted attack in F.B Area on Wednesday morning.

The judge was heading to work along with his brother and sister-in-law when he was shot at and wounded, said an official at the Gulberg police station.

“He was driving his official Mehran car. As the car slowed down on a speed breaker close to his home in Block 17 of Gulberg, a gunman positioned there fired a single shot and fled on a waiting motorbike with his accomplice,” said SP Liaquatabad Noman Siddiqui.

Judge Naqvi sustained a single bullet to his chest. He was rushed to a private hospital, where he was stated to be in stable condition. He was posted as second judicial magistrate and civil judge east.
