ISLAMABAD, May 31: Debt owed to the IMF aggregated up to $8.1 billion at the end of March while payments amounting to $793 million have been made in the third and fourth quarter of fiscal year 2012, Pakistan’s Economic Survey for 2011-12 reveals.

According to the survey, total amount of foreign economic assistance received in the first nine months of 2011-12 stood at $1,660 million.

Details show that commitment of foreign economic assistance was $4,580 million during 2010-11, while during July-March 2011-12, total commitments amounted to $1967 million.
