Motorway traffic violations

I WOULD like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned towards increasing traffic violations and overspeeding by private transporters such as Hiace drivers on Peshawar-Mardan Motorway and the condoning of these violations by the Motorway police.

Violating traffic rules by public transport are now common and it shows how reckless behaviour they have towards the importance of observing traffic rules. Instead of obeying rules, they indulge in overspeeding and traffick rules time and again.

Now they are so addicted to these violations that when their attention is drawn by passengers, they instead show quarrelsome behaviour with the passengers.

But the worse thing is that those who are given the responsibility to enforce traffic rules and minimise their violations can often be noticed enjoying their steady patrolling on roadsides without even looking at those crazy drivers. On the other hand, if by chance those racers were caught and fined, they could easily escape the barriers on Motorway toll plazas without paying the fine and even the normal toll taxes.

Isn’t it time Motorway police authorities dealt with them with an iron hand to curb the menace?

COMMENTS

  1. When people on the very top do not follow any traffic rules or laws, why is it expected that a bus driver or for that matter any other ordinary citizen should follow them? What Pakistan lacks is the Rule of Law. Till such time that laws are understood, acknowledged and followed by all citizens, and that these laws are enforced on all citizens equally and impartially, things will never change.

Traffic rules are voilated so frequently everywhere in the country as if "NO RULES" are available here. I remember a time when taking over from "LEFT SIDE" was taken to be a serious "CRIME" by every driver. But now overtaking from LEFT is acommon practice by everybody on the road. This factor together with other "ALLOWED" compromises result in fatal accidents with loss of men and property.
A serious view is needed to be taken by concerned authorities.

  3. absolutely you are right we have to curb these traffic violation and learn the lesson from devloped countries there is no wide road but still moving traffic very smoothly and beautifully , no rush at all
