KARACHI, June 1: Four members of a family, including a woman, ran away from the premises of the district courts of Malir on Friday following the dismissal of their pre-arrest bail applications.

The woman, with her brothers and father, has been booked for allegedly cutting off her former lover’s private part in her house in January within the remit of the Sharafi Goth police station.

The suspects through their counsel filed pre-arrest bail applications in a sessions court.

Earlier, the court granted them an interim bail and told them to appear before the court for confirmation or otherwise of the bail.

The additional district and sessions judge (Malir), Munawar Sultana, dismissed the pleas after hearing arguments from both sides. As soon as the court pronounced the order, the suspects made an easy escape in the presence of investigating officer sub- inspector Aslam Abbasi.

According to the prosecution, the woman and the victim were once said to be in love and desired to marry, but the victim got married to another woman, and since then she had been harbouring a grudge against him.

On Jan 12 she called him to her home and committed the crime with the help of his brothers and father, it added.

Initially, the woman got a case registered against the man, but a sessions court directed the police to cancel the case and register an FIR on the complaint of the victim party.

A case (FIR No.63/12) was registered under Sections 336 (punishment for itlaf-i-udw (dismembers, amputates, severs any limb or organ of the body of another person)) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the victim’s father.
