Afaq acquitted

KARACHI, June 2: Mohajir Qaumi Movement (Haqiqi) chairman Afaq Ahmed was on Saturday acquitted in two murder cases for want of evidences.

The additional district and sessions judge (south), Javed Ahmed Keerio, pronounced the judgment after hearing arguments from both sides.

Mr Ahmed had filed an acquittal plea under Section 265-K of the Criminal Procedure Code in two murder cases registered against him.

He was charged with killing a man, Mansoor Sheikh, within the remit of the Shah Faisal Colony police station and another man, Ajmal, in the jurisdiction of the Al-Falah Society police station in 2009.—APP
