RAWALPINDI, June 3: Two persons, including a policeman, were booked on murder charges by Pirwadhai police on Sunday after a six-year-old girl died allegedly during police raid on a house on Saturday.

Sana Khurram, daughter of Khurram Shahzad, was shifted to Holy Family Hospital (HFH) on Saturday in critical condition where she died.

The girl’s father alleged that a police party led by SI Bashir Ahmed raided his house in Fauji Colony to arrest him as a fraud case was registered against him with Pirwadhai police station on the complaint of Mohammad Nawaz who was also with the police party.

He said he showed his bail-before-arrest order to the sub-inspector but he did not listen and tried to take him away forcibly.

He said as the policemen were taking him away, his wife Mehfooz Bibi, who was carrying little Sana, tried to rescue him. Meanwhile, she slipped and the baby fell on the floor and was severely injured.

The little girl, who was already sick, was taken to the hospital where she died.

Khurram Shahzad alleged that the police officer dragged his wife who was carrying the baby and in thed process, his daughter died.

The police have registered a murder case against Sub-Inspector Bashir Ahmed and complainant Mohammad Nawaz.
