‘Campus politics turns bloody’

THIS refers to the feature ‘Campus politics turns bloody’ (May 13). The issue of students’ killing is now spreading in our country. It is a serious matter for the entire nation.

Hooliganism has become common in every area. But the worrying issue is that it has now started spreading its roots even in our educational institutions. Educational institutions are set to promote peace within students rather than promoting uproar. Such heinous incidents involving bloodshed are making our students violent. Our country’s future to a great extent rests on our youths.

Targeting them can be threatening for our country.

Being a student, I request all the authorities concerned to take immediate measures to ensure peace at least in our educational institutions so that we can study with a peaceful mind. Such incidents severely affect our state of mind as well as our studying schedule.

Student violence, politics and bloodshed on campuses are an old story. But the students themselves don't take their local councilors and MPAs to task. They should demand governance from them. Saying that politics shouldnt be allowed is like saying that corrupt leaders shouldn't be allowed. In Pakistan? Ha! Ha!

No political, regional or ethnicity based parties or grouping is allowed at educational campuses.....ban all parties.....Musharraf was right in this regard

There's only 1 solution. Complete abolishment of political parties from all educational institutes and a stern military dictator to help end the bloodshed and corruption which is happening at a massive scale. Pretty soon, there will be no Pakistan left, unfortunately.

Student politics turned violent in 80s, therefore, its not a new thing. Politics should not be allowed in any form in educational institutions [FULL STOP]. However, to be honest, politics has been allowed in educational institutions even before the creation of Pakistan by our honourable leaders back then like Quaid-e-Azam, starting from Aligarh University. And due to this fact, it carried on into our current educational setup. It might have been necessary back then, but today its just nasty, and therefore should be abandoned completely.

Sorry, but it seems that our society has passed all the limits of a civil sense and this is why I feel that a very BRUTE dictator is now needed to put the nation on path which was shown by the founder of the country.But he must be BRUTE and nothing less. If any one thinks that any politician will bring the change,he must be living in cuckoo's world.
