HYDERABAD, June 7: Angry family members of a patient, who died in the medical ward of the civil hospital here on Thursday, manhandled hospital staff and resorted to firing on the hospital premises.

They alleged that Khan Mohammad Chang, 35, had died because of negligence of doctors.

Chang, who was resident of the village of Noor Mohammad Chang in Hatri, was admitted to hospital on Thursday morning with complaints of gastroenteritis, but he died shortly.

His relatives claimed that doctors had not paid proper attention to him.

Doctors and staff left the ward and suspended work in protest.

The protesters also staged a sit-in in front of the urology ward of against the administration.—Staff Correspondent
