KARACHI, June 8: The office block on the first floor of an old building situated off I.I. Chundrigar Road was gutted on Friday when a fire broke out there. However, no casualty was reported.

The fire, which broke out at around 11am, quickly spread and engulfed the first floor of the building, which was a wooden structure, said Chief Fire Officer Saleem Ehtisham. The first floor was gutted.

The ground-plus-one building was located just behind the Standard Chartered building opposite Habib Bank Plaza, the CFO said, adding that the cause of the fire was either an electrical short circuit or some human error.
