Humour: The not-so-happy Monday!
Rise and shine. The weekend is over. The week has begun with full fervour, bringing back to you the same routine all over again. Fasten up your nerve cells with a good hot cup of tea or coffee and a healthy breakfast; eat properly as you never know if you will even get time to have a proper meal at lunch time.
Move fast as life is too short to waste on a lecture about the relationship between punctuality and efficiency. If you are one of the not-so-organised types then you will have to take time out for ironing in the morning. Pick and choose your best available dress to camouflage the laziness.
Honestly speaking, there are people, the-very-punctual lot, who make sure to get all the accessories sorted out on Sunday night so that nothing gets in the way of their love of life, the corporate world. Too good to be true, but good for them.
While leaving home say a silent prayer that you can manage to come back on time, regardless of the fact that you know exactly how bad things can be in the evening, as there are chances that you will be stuck in traffic for endless hours especially if you happen to work somewhere in the busiest business hub of Karachi. Survival tip: Keep some eatables and drinks with you; it might take you hours to find your way out of the mess.
Take a deep breath when you reach office, it’s the same place you left on Saturday, nothing in the world has changed, for that matter, it has not even been cleaned up properly. No matter how good your tea at home was, get a cup of caffeine at work; it works like magic and gives you that boost to start your work.
In case you can somehow associate with all the Monday blues mentioned above, congratulations…you still have hope as you are a normal human being who has joined the club of day dreamers who still have hope in ‘Saturday off’ to save energy not only for the country but for themselves as well!
