KARACHI, June 10: Waseem Khatri reconfirmed his superiority by winning the 24th Pakistan Scrabble Championship at the DA Public School here on Sunday.

Waseem was in devastating form winning 20 matches with a spread of 1954.

Rodney Judd was a distant second with 18 wins and a spread of 820.

Yasir Jamshaid finished third with 17 wins and a spread of 1,083.

Meanwhile, 16-year-old Shahzaib Khatri was in good form but remained unlucky to miss out on the second position after losing his last match. He finished fifth.

Another teenager, 15-year-old Javeria Arshad Mirza finished in the top 10.

This was the first scrabble tournament in Pakistan which was internationally rated.

Tournament director M. Inayatullah expressed his delight at the success of the event.
