ISLAMABAD: Malik Riaz Hussain, the real estate tycoon, late Monday night arrived here at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport by his special plane.

Riaz, who was under treatment in the United Kingdom, on his return avoided a detailed media interaction and only restricted himself to a brief press talk with the journalists, stating that he would appear before the apex court tomorrow morning and record his statement.

“Since the court has forbidden me from talking to media, I would only tell you that I would record my statement in the court,” he added.

Flanked by security guards, Riaz came out of the airport and later left for his residence.

Earlier, Zahid Hussain Bokhari, counsel of Riaz made it clear that his client will arrive Pakistan with solid evidences against Arsalan Iftikhar by “all means” and would appear before the court for recording his statement.

Bokhari said this while talking to media representatives before hearing of the case of Dr. Arsalan Iftikhar, son of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry who is facing a suo moto case in the Supreme Court for allegedly taking millions from Malik Riaz of Bahria Town.

“My client cannot be pressurised through applications for registration of cases and he is ready to face it even if ten cases are registered against him,” said Bokhari.

When asked about the importance of the case he said, “My client is very much aware about the significance as well as consequences of the case.”

To a question about arrival of Riaz, he said, “I assure you that he will come and beyond this nothing can be said at this stage.”

A two-judge bench of the of the apex court, comprising Justice Jawwad S. Khwaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, earlier on Monday advised Riaz to appear before the court on Tuesday to submit his written statement. The bench also ordered his son Ali Riaz to be present during court proceedings today.
