Roma are the descendants of Rajasthani gypsies who migrated west long ago, although they have developed their own identity and culture. They have been shunned and discriminated against over the last century. They were brutally killed in very large numbers during the third Reich, and this continues today in many European countries. While they are big on lecturing others on 'Human Rights', the life of Romas among them has been miserable.
