LAHORE, June 21: Governor Sardar Latif Khosa said on Thursday the judiciary had not learnt any lesson from history.

“Our judiciary has not learnt any lesson from history. Judicial murder of Z.A Bhutto separated a great leader from his people.

The judiciary has not yet decided the case of Asghar Khan but when it comes to the PPP, the situation changes altogether. The judiciary should act as non-partisan,” the governor said at a function organised in connection with the birth anniversary of Benazir Bhutto at the Governor’s House.

A good number of PPP activists, including Azizur Rehman Chan, Usman Salim Malik, Mian Misbahur Rehman, Faiza Malik, Akbar Khan, Samiullah Khan Durrani, Afnan Butt, Ghulam Abbas, Zakriya Butt and Pir Nazim Husain Shah were present.

The governor said the PPP-led government did not want clash of institutions and respected the judiciary and the chief justice.

He said today Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif were in politics and government only because of the sacrifice of Benazir Bhutto.

He said the Punjab government was criticising the federal government for loadshedding but the fact was that Nawaz Sharif had not added a single megawatt to the national grid during his tenure.

Khosa also wrote a letter to the chief minister expressing concern over his (Shahbaz)’s party men’s involvement in attacks on the houses of PPP and PML-Q leaders and the public and private properties.

The PPP leaders also donated blood at a camp set up at the Governor’s House.
