THIS is apropos of the letter ‘Keeping results on hold’ (June12). It is a welcome attempt to highlight a crucial issue which is faced by every candidate. The performance of the Sindh Public Service Commission is unsatisfactory and sluggish in selecting and recruiting employees. Besides, the delay in posting of payroll and probation officers in the home ministry, there are various pending cases, related with written tests and interviews for different posts in different departments.

For instance, the SPSC advertised the posts of assistant sub – inspector in the Sindh police in September 2011. Over eight months have passed. The process of selecting ASIs is in abeyance.

Moreover, the SPSC traditionally conducts provincial combined competition after four or five years. It is basically a huge delay. The Punjab Public Service Commission and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission duly hold combined competitions after every one year. In this way, the majority of competitive and talented aspirants gets the opportunity to serve the nation. The perennial poor performance by the SPSC has increased unemployment and frustration. The government should look into the matter.

  1. sir i abdul ghaffar qambrani appeared in test for the post of assistant in spsc plz announce the result.

  2. SPSC is one of the dead-elephant like departments in the province. The poor performance of SPSC is due to the political interference in the affairs of the department. Why not the Honorable Chief Minister of Sindh ' The-Bhaang Shah' takes notice on the dismal condition of SPSC and directs SPSC to conduct combined competitive exams every year regardless of turbulance in political affairs of the province. The talented youth of sindh is no less in competence than that of other provinces. Its only the matter of getting the chance at the right time. I believe that CM and Governor Sindh will take cognizance of the matter and act in the best ineterest of youth of the province.
