KARACHI: Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Monday met with the Pir Sibghatullah of Muslim League Functional (PML-F) at Kingri House and also visited Muttaihida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) headquarter Nine-zero.

Speaking with the prime minister at Nine Zero via telephone, MQM Chief Hussain underlined the need for the best working relations among the executive, the parliament and the judiciary in the supreme interest of the country and the people.

These three pillars of the country should perform within their defined limits and focus on providing relief to the people, and bring social and economic improvement in their life through prosperity and development of the country, he asserted.

Hussain said that the nation cannot afford any confrontation between the national institutions.

“The President has faced very tough time in last four and half years,” he remarked.

He noted that for the continuity of democratic process and in the great national interest, President Zardari avoided confrontation between the executive and the judiciary and accepted the disqualification of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and that of Rehman Malik and Ms. Farah Naz Isphani.

Altaf Hussain invited the opposition political parties to hold an open debate with him on the pros and cons of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to ascertain its true position.

He proposed that the Government should immediately table a bill in the Parliament on dual nationality with certain amendments.

“If some one defeats me on NRO, I would quit politics,” he challenged.

The Pakistanis having dual nationality are the back-bone of our economy, he added.

He called upon the Government to bring another bill on protection of women from violence and suggested extreme legal punishment to the accused.

He hoped that the Prime Minister would make the best use of his capability and of the available resources for the resolution of the people's problems especially power shortage.

He assured his and on behalf of his party full support to the Government.

MQM Federal and Provincial Ministers, MNAs, Senators, MPAs and other senior leaders were present besides good number of MQM workers.
