CALIFORNIA:Facebook has changed your email address. That's how it appears after a quiet change in the way the company displays users' contact information.
Facebook replaced the email address users chose when they signed up with a facebook.com address. The Facebook email accounts allow users to communicate with outside email addresses via Facebook.
The changes were first pointed out by bloggers over the weekend, leading to complaints from users. An email message to Facebook representatives seeking an explanation was not immediately returned.
The company said in a statement in April that it was ''updating addresses on Facebook to make them consistent across our site.'' Users are free to restore their former email addresses.

I have been trying to make my whole family in Pakistan understand this, most do not even have a clue about privacy and internet. Facebook and Google has one of the most intrusive privacy policies, use them wisely, and do not rely on them a whole lot, although it may be difficult to do so. Do not go and log in into any other sites from google or facebook, Open a new browser page, it might take one extra second of your life.

Only solution: Go to Contact Info and select Edit. Make facebook.com address "Only me" and "Hidden from Timline" Then make your preferred address "Public" (or "Friends") and "Shown on Timeline"
