KARACHI, June 27: A man was shot dead and his friend suffered bullet wounds when armed men targeted them at a mechanic’s shop near Radio Pakistan on Wednesday evening, police said.

They said that the armed men on a motorbike fired shots at 32-year-old Sameer and his friend Adil, who is in his late-20s, when they were sitting at the mechanic’s shop to get their motorbike repaired.

“Sameer died from bullet wounds on way to the Civil Hospital while his friend is said to be in stable condition,” said SP-Saddar Chaudary Asad Ali. “The deceased originally hailed from Azad Kashmir and lived here in Baldia Town. The motive is not yet clear.

It seems that it was not an act of targeted killing but the result of some personal issues.”
