KARACHI, June 28: The golfing scene will be moved from Karachi Golf Club (KGC) to the Arabian Sea Country Club (ASCC) next month when the Rs1.2 million 14th Sindh Open Championship takes place there from July 6 to 8.
According to the details, the pros event will be played over 54 holes while senior pros will vie for honours in the 36-hole event.
Amateurs having handicap 12 and below are allowed to feature in 18 holes subsidiary event on the concluding day.
Last date for the submission of entries is July 4.
Meanwhile, the 54-holes fourth Independence Day Cup Open Golf Championship carrying a lucrative purse of one million rupees gets into action at Defence Authority Country and Golf Club from July 12.
A sum of Rs900,000 has been set aside for pros while another Rs100,000 would be disbursed among senior pros besides other prizes for all categories.
Besides pros and seniors pros, the events that will take place include juniors’ under-16, masters’ under-14, veterans, ladies, seniors and invitees. Entries close on July 8. —Sports Correspondent
