TOBA TEK SINGH, June 30: Four robbers injured seriously a bus driver and two passengers with gunshot fires near Kamalia bypass on Kamalia-Chichawatni Road early on Saturday.

Kamalia Sadar police said the armed men, who were busy looting passengers, signalled a bus to stop, but driver Muhammad Fakhar tried to speed away. Robbers responded with gunshot fires, injuring seriously the driver and two passengers. Later, the robbers snatched cash, cell phones and other valuables worth thousands of rupees from passengers and fled.

The injured were admitted to THQ Hospital in Kamalia.

Meanwhile, three outlaws looted a filling station near Chak 763-GB, Kamalia, on Saturday.

The armed men came to the filling station on two motorcycles and snatched Rs150,000 and three cell phones from salesmen after locking them in a room.

STRIKE: District bar association members observed a complete strike on Saturday to protest an alleged attempt on the life of a son of Punjab Bar Council member Mazhar Lillah by Sargodha patrolling police SP Malik Iqbal’s son and his friends.

A general body meeting of the bar was also held with president Amir Nadeem Sidhu in the chair in this respect.

The meeting passed a resolution calling upon the chief minister to order early arrest of the alleged attackers.
