ISLAMABAD, June 30: A woman was found dead in her house here on Saturday, police said.
A.B., 30, was brought to the hospital by her husband, an official at Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, where she was pronounced dead.
The woman’s husband, M.S. told police and hospital staff that she committed suicide by consuming poison. However, doctors found a strangulation mark around the victim’s neck and suspected that she might have been murdered. After this disclosure, the police seized the body and shifted it to a mortuary for autopsy.
The husband in his statement told the police that he had gone to Murree with his two children early in the morning. Later in the afternoon he tried to contact her, but there was no response from her mobile phone.
Later he phoned his friend, M.A., and asked him to go to his house to inquire. When M.A. reached the house in Alipur Farash, he found his friend’s wife dead.
He informed M.S., who reached his house at around 6pm and shifted his wife to the hospital where the doctors confirmed that she had died.
