More children join book reading club
ISLAMABAD, July 2: The National Book Foundation (NBF) on Monday held a new session of book-reading during its on-going ‘Summer Book Club’ for promoting love for the books in children.
Many children were invited to the NBF premises, for the first time, and were provided with interesting books, snacks and above all an opportunity to express themselves.
Parents and relatives of the children acting as volunteers also participated in the session. It was quite an inspiring get-together and Mrs Parveen Haq, a retired professor of English and an author of many books, read out stories for the participants in such an impressive way that children’s attention was fully grabbed by them.
Managing Director, NBF, Mazharul Islam said it was just a beginning that would lead to many other equally successful and pleasant sessions with more and more children attending them.
