Moin Khan dissects Pakistan’s performance in Sri Lanka so far, focusing especially on the role of coach Dav Whatmore, how Shahid Afridi was utilised and what Mohammad Sami could have done better in his latest comeback.
Dawn need to remove this man. He is not qualified for this job.
Moin at best is incompetent and at worst his integrity is questionable.
This is the man who could not keep down the leg side and always shouted at the bowlers, dropped at least one catch per match and never scored runs outside the sub continent. His only hundred in England was courtesy of three dropped catches 17. 33, 47 if my memory serves me right. But three catches dropped for definite. The only reason why he played for Pakistan was his relationship with the board and senior players otherwise Rashid Latif would have had a much longer career as the best wicketkeeper/batsman Pakistan has ever produced.
Moin is the man who recommended Sarfarwaz as the wicketkeeper for all three formats. It's because of Sarfaraz we lost the ODI series catches dropped of Sangakara and Co, just like his mentor Moin. Lets look at Sarfarwaz, unfit, knocked knees, no foot work hence bad collection and mediocre batting. Now he wants Razzaq, way past best his sell by date, can't field, can't bowl and can only hit medium pacers. No good against pace, short balls, moving ball and the ball turning away.
Finally it was Moin who was the coach of Lahore Badshah who are accused of massive match fixing this is who you want Pakistan? Haven't we got enough of these kind of people running the country!!!
Razzaq should only be included in T20 cricket not in ODI's and that too on Upper batting order because he is not in an age where he could come late and hit few smashes at the end of the innings. He has a bit of cricket left and we should utilise it in t20's especially in the coming CL.
Moin has absolutely no idea what the heck is he smokin'. Razzaq has been hanging around for a very long time now without much of impression. A half decent knock once a while doesn't make him a must-have ODI specialist. He is long past his prime and should have thrown in the towel long time ago.
Don't take this man seriously. He is highly overrated as a commentator. He once called Tendulkar "Endulkar" about 7 years ago, and Tendulkar is still playing international cricket, and has broken all kinds of records. Find someone more knowledgeable to solicit comments on cricketers and team compositions.
Agree Sarfaraz Ahmed should be the wicket keeper best would be for captain to decide where he should bat.
now its time to move on, we should plan for World Cuo 2012, Razzaq, MIsbah, Younis & Afridi wont be there till than, so its better to induct new faces now rather than inducting new faces after 2014. we should look for new genuine all rounder, Hammad Azam needs to improve his bowling and fielding to replace Razzaq and make the place his own.
Pakistan We Love You
Current Pakistan side needs The Anchor – Misbah.
Other 3 should be replaced.
sarfraz ahmed one down??? are you serious this guy cant score a 50 if his life depended on it. He is an ok wicket keeper but not talent as a batsman. Umar Akmal should be permanent one down to give him a confidence and watch pure talent on display! razzaq is past his playing days in international level, he should stick with t20 leagues and make money
I don't thing umar akmal is talented player. look his past record he fails in 5 or 6 time than he score 40 or 50 runs. The only thing is keeping him due to his connection and now they want to bring back his incompetent brother kamran for t20 worl cup. What a shame!!!!! Can't we find a better wicket keeper in the nation of 150 million?
come on man…. He is the only pakistan cricketer right now, whose average is above 50 in first class
I personally think Moin should be inducted as a coach for Pakistan team, may be not as head but as assistant coach. He can definitely help out the new young wicket keepers
Razzaq is history. Should only conentrate on new players like Azam.
I am of the opinion that we ought to leave the old baggage home.
Razak being one of them.
